Workstation settings should be contained in a separate file from the "setup.dat" file. Setup.dat is read by all workstations upon start-up.
The workstation specific settings must be located in the file C:\FASTBASE.DAT
Some computers that allow different security levels (eg: Windows XP) do not allow files to be saved into the C:\ directory. To create this file you will need to be logged in as administrator.
set setup(default_directory) {c:/My Documents}
This option determines the default directory to use when FastBase prompts for saving export files.
set setup(image_directory) ""
If your company has photos of products you need to specify the path where the images are stored, eg: "X:/PHOTOS". Use forward slashes instead of backslashes.
set setup(fastbase_config_path) "c:/"
FastBase may need to store some local files for configuration settings, by default these files are saved in the C:\ directory. On NT/server class computers the user may not be able to save files in this directory. Use the C:/FASTBASE.DAT file to create the above setting on each of these computers and use an alternate directory.
set setup(internal_viewer) 1
FastBase has its own viewer for looking at screen reports. You can use the windows default (which is usually notepad or wordpad), change the above setting to "0" if required. FastBase opens report files by using the file association for ".txt" files.
set setup(html_export_path) [file join [pwd] html]
There is a facility in FastBase to create static html pages showing all customers and all parts like the enquiry screens. This setting determines which directory those files will be placed in by default. The current default is the "present working direcory / html".
set setup(print_copy_options) ""
This option can be set to tell FastBase to add an extra option to the command line when copying print files to UNC printers. Some workstations require this option to be set to "/a" to copy files in ascii mode. Contact your FastBase support staff for assistance.
