These instructions are to be used on any stand-alone computer that requires remote access to FastBase (do not use on a computer that is already on a network running FastBase).
Step 1.
Create a folder on the C:\ drive of your computer called "FBASE".
Create a folder in the "C:\FBASE" folder called "NEW".
Step 2.
You should receive a file from fastbase called "FASTBASE.DAT". Save this into the C:\ drive on your computer (no folder, just into C:\).
Step 3.
Download the following application and save it in C:\FBASE: http://fastbase.co.nz/download/ActiveTcl8.6.1.0.297577-win32-ix86-threaded.exe
Once this application has been saved run it (open).
Accept all defaults when installing except the option "Install for current user or all users?", select All Users. You may need to be logged in as an administrator to do this.
Step 4.
Now download the following file and save it to the C:\FBASE\NEW folder.
Open the file and extract the contents to C:\FBASE\NEW.
Alternatively you can open the file directly from the link below and extract its contents. http://www.fastbase.co.nz/Remote_Access.zip
Step 5.
Now open windows explorer and locate the C:\FBASE\NEW folder.
Right click on the file "fbclient.tcl" and select "copy".
Minimise all windows then right click on the desktop and select "Paste Shortcut".
Rename the short-cut to "FastBase" or something appropriate.
Now open this short-cut and FastBase should start installing.
The initial install may take upto 5 minutes (on a dial-up Internet connection).
