Sometimes a supplier may change their Price or Balance Currency (or both), eg, from EUR to USD. If this happens, the following changes may need to be made in FastBase:
1.
Create a new supplier (eg, 456) with the same details as the old supplier (eg, 123). Set the correct currency on the new supplier.
2.
Do this step if the old supplier was the main supplier on some products and the supplier list price needs to be changed on those products, otherwise go straight to step 3.
Go to Processing -> Stock Costing -> Automatic Price Updates
Selected Parts - Click or press F1. Enter the old supplier number eg, 123 in the 'Selected Supplier' field. Click Ok.
Update Price - Set this to 'Suplier List Price'.
Original Price - Set this to 'Supplier List Price'.
Cost Factor - Set this to a conversion factor to convert the prices in the old currency to the new currency (eg, convert from EUR to USD).
As an example, if the old currency was EUR, approximate exchange rate of .52 and the new currency is USD, approximate exchange rate of .74 then take .74 / .52 = 1.423. This will be the conversion factor - this is still approximate. Your supplier may advise of the appropriate factor to use.
Update Live Prices - Set this to 'Yes' (select 'No' first time you run this if unsure and only a report will be produced, no prices will be changed).
Output Device - Select the output device for the report.
Click on Report/Update Prices.
3.
Once you have completed the above steps:
Go to Maintenance -> Miscellaneous -> Part Stuff -> Change Main Supplier on Selected Parts
Selected Parts - Click or press F1. Enter the old supplier number eg, 123 in the 'Selected Supplier' field. Click Ok.
Main Supplier - Enter the new supplier number, eg, 456.
Click on Update.
This process will automatically change the main supplier on all the old supplier's parts to the new supplier (and their new currency).
