Printing Messages on Stationery Forms

Messages can be printed in the body of all forms, including customer statements, invoices, credits, packing slips, purchase orders etc.

You can follow the instructions below to add your own messages or alternatively, contact your FastBase support staff to do this for you.

1. Go to Utilities - Stationery Layouts.

2. Select the layout required, eg: STATEMENT.

3. Added a line like the following at the top of the 'Layout Code':

set layout(message) "Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!".

You need to make sure that a line like the above doesn't already exist, if it does then you need to edit this line with your new message.

4. Save the new layout.

Additional Notes

Messages will print in the body section of the form, after all of the detail line items. The message will automatically be word wrapped when it is too long to print across the page.

If you want blank lines in your messages then leave blank lines in the message, eg:

set layout(message) "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
From all the staff at FastBase!"


Certain characters should not be in the message, these include square and squiggly brackets and dollar signs. Some other punctuation characters may also cause problems so please exclude them from your messages.

Messages can be created to print in selected circumstances or for selected accounts, this requires a little programming work so please discuss your requirements with your FastBase support staff.
