Entering Equipment

Equipment refers to the items/products being serviced. This may not be applicable for all service jobs. The equipment items do not need to be stock items in FastBase. If you enter serial numbers these do not have to have been sold from within fastbase.

It will be possible to view service history for equipment items from within the customer enquiry or stock enquiry screens.

Equipment:
Enter the part number or press F1 to display a part selection window - this will provide more options for finding the part you want.
If the equipment item is not a stock item then just enter any suitable part number or reference.

Description:
This will be the product description for stock items. Enter any description as appropriate if required.

Serial No.:
Enter the serial number of the product being serviced.
If you are servicing many units of the same product it is best to enter each item/serial number as a separate equipment record so that service history can be captured more accurately.

Sold Date:
Enter the date the item was sold to the customer (optional).

Location/Note:
Use this field to capture any additional information you require, perhaps the location of the item or a note.

Details of all equipment items being seviced will print on the job card.
This information will also be printed on the service invoice.
